Bastard Assignments at Safehouse 1

We’re REALLY excited about returning to Peckham for our next Music and Dance event on the 29th November.

The venue is incredibly eerie. A dilapidated ruined house, complete with stripped down walls, peeling paint and an exposed timber beams. Since our S/M/L:M event at Asylum in February we’ve been itching to use this space, and we have a great lineup of six composers and one choreographer to explore the five rooms of this broken home. Pieces include a work for speaking percussionist by composer Timothy Cape and percussionist Sam Wilson, while choreographer Samara Dubois’ work considers the value of our initial physical experiences with our mothers.

Jamie Hamilton presents a collaboration with visual artist Thomas Eisl, using chaotic automata to evoke the process of writing and re-writing; memory and remembering, and Josh Spear broaches the under represented issues surrounding male body image using moving musicians and audio. Also featured is work by resident BA composers Fred Feeney and Edward Henderson .

Expect harmonicas, spoken word, physical performance and percussion in an intimate space.
