Caitlin Rowley

Portrait of Caitlin RowleyI am a composer, artist and performer whose work often blurs the boundaries between music and visual art. I work in a range of media – from conventionally notated music, text scores, video, electroacoustic music, digital prints and collage, often combining several of these in a single piece. Some of my scores take the form of art objects.

I’ve studied composition in Australia and the UK with teachers including Peter Sculthorpe, Errollyn Wallen, Paul Newland and Stephen Montague. I am currently working on my PhD investigating private creative spaces such as the composition studio and the private space of the score through interdisciplinary composition under the supervision of James Saunders and Robert Luzar at Bath Spa University.
